MONROE PRAIRIE ATV/UTV CLUB

Thurs. April 20, 2023@ The Lure 6:pm

Meeting called to order at 6:pm with the Pledge of Allegiance being said. We had 37 members present.

The minutes from March’s meeting were read and Bubba made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Tom Behl seconded them, all approved.

New club member, Andy Kausak donated another $100 to the club. Thank you Andy!

Char was not here so no treasurer’s report.

Trail boss, Brian Jambretz reported that everything from Cty. Z

Is signed.

Bubba welcomed new member Kurt & Debbie Schmidt.

Dan Casey from Sand Valley visited our board meeting at the Western House. He talked about J-1’s(college students from other countries coming to work for them). Sand Valley houses these students. Dan Casey /Sand Valley were wondering if our club would be interested in giving these students rides. This is stuff they have never done. Last year they had 20 students, this year 57, next year possibly 150. The J-1’s will be coming the middle of June till middle of September.

Trails north of Badger we’ll have for a while because Sand Valley is not going in right away.

Bubba went to Jefferson trail to check the condition of the trail. He could only go 150 yards as there were several trees down across

trail. This Saturday, the 22nd, we need a work crew to cut up trees. Then will have to replace ribbons.

Sherriff Brent York is having Safety classes. Saturday May 15 & Saturday May 20th.

We desperately need volunteers to chair events. If no one steps up events will be cancelled.

Casey from Hoozel’s would like one or two events.

Poker Run/ May 13 at 10:am…Tom Behl is chairing out of Sherwood Lodge. Remember if you chair or help with 2 events you will get your next years dues FREE.

Brian Leibpert is having a workshop for people to work on their atv/utv’s…..learn how to change oil or minor repairs. That will be this Sunday, 4-23 at the shop on Cty. E.

WATVA is setting up a Welcome Center on 5/23 at Rome Town Hall.

The 50/50 brought in $140. $70 to club, $70 to Gene Gostomski. Congratulations Gene!

Christmas party Sat. Dec. 3rd at Lake Arrowhead.

Brian reported all trails are being re-numbered, south of Alpine are done. Loop 1 &2 will be one-way trails. East and West are odd, north and south are even.

There is no grant funding for maps. Club wants to purchase a 6x10 enclosed trailer for merchandise at a limit of $1500.

Thursday March 16, 2023 @Bay Rest, 6:pm

Meeting called to order with Pledge of Allegiance being recited. We had 35 members present.

The minutes from February’s minutes were read. Bubba made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

The treasurer’s report was given. We had an ending balance of $26,347.34 in the building fund plus a $1000 donation from club member, Joel Havlik. Thank you Joel! In our checking account, we have a balance of $17,922.35 ($1435 in shirt sales). Bubba made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as given, Bob Billings seconded it, all approved.

Bubba presented the club with a $1000 donation to the building fund from the Sand County Turkey Talkers. Thank you!

Brian Jambretz, his wife, Deb and sidekick, Bob Schuyler reported on trails and routes: trails are looking good and they cut down 45 trees south of Beaver—still losing trails on south west corner.

Our vice-president, Dave Elgan reported that Del Prairie will hopefully open by May.

Club member, Mike Kuss, discussed School Board Referendum and how state funding has not kept up with inflation. Vote YES for the referendum.

Club member, Harold Stewart, joined the club in 2001 and has been our trail boss since. Harold was given a certificate and made the first honorary life-time membership. Thank you Harold for all the years

of service and commitment. Our club formed in 1997 and the founder was Gordy Carlson.

April 29 is our scheduled Work-n-play day. Meet at the trailhead at 9:am.

On May 13, Tom Behl is chairing a Poker Run out of Sherwood Lodge at 10:am.

Cathy Corbin made a motion that every ride or event the club holds back 20% for the club. Whoever chairs makes the decision/fun ride is a donation. Deb Jambretz seconded the motion for 80/20 payout, all approved.

The 50/50 brought in $120, $60 to the club, $60 to club member Rodney Dohs.

New member, Andy Kausak , donated $100 to the clubs “building fund”. Thank you Andy and welcome to the club.

Bob Billings made a motion to adjourn, Deb Jambretz seconded it, all approved. Meeting adjourned at 6:35 pm.

February 16, 2023 @ Moundview Golf Course 6:pm

Meeting called to order at 6:pm with the pledge of allegiance being said. We had 32 members present.

Harold Stewart is the first honorary lifetime member for all his years of service to the club. The club presented Harold with a certificate. Thank you Harold for all the years of being trail boss and being a member.

August 26 will be the fundraiser for the club toward the building fund.

Thank you for all the renewals everyone.

Char Brockman gave the treasurer’s report.

The building fund balance is $26,347.34. Bubba

made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as given, Tom Behl seconded it, all approved.

Bubba read a thank you from the Exceptional Citizens of Adams County and Coats for Kids for the donation from the club.

Tom Behl took over selling and storing the club apparel. Thank you Tom!

Brian Jambretz, our trail boss, reported on the trail and routes. Brian and Bob S.worked the tractor that the club purchased and got for trail grooming.

Sand Valley is giving the club back 2 miles for every mile they take from us. Last fall we lost 7 or 8 trails.

On April 4 vote yes for the school board referendum.

Rome tourism gave our club $12,000 towards the purchase

of a tractor. The club applied for a grant from Rome Tourism.

Mike Reiner and Bobbi Jo Wolfe from the ABATE club came to talk to the club about a bus ride going to Madison on Tuesday March 21, 2023 on fuel choice among other things. They invited any of us that wanted to go along. Sign-up deadline is March 1st.

The WATVA Convention will be March 31 and April 1st in Stevens Point@ Holiday Inn includes a free dinner. Cost of motel room will be a $129 per night.

SATURDAY JULY 16, 2022@ WAGON WHEEL

Meeting called to order at 10:02am with the pledge of allegiance being

said. We had 40 members present. The minutes were read. Bubba made a

motion to accept the minutes as read, Pat Williams seconed it, all approved.

There was no treasurer's report given.

Bubba welcomed new members.

The club donated $200 to Joel from “Partners for Paws”.

Bubba attended the Southern Adams Club's meeting and told them if

they wanted to merge with our club, we welcomed them in. They would like

to keep their club but the offer stands down the road if they change their minds.

County Z from Dakota Ave. to Czech Ct. is passed . This will be

signed next week...remember its not open till signed. Then after its signed the

trail behind Shady Akers will be closed.

Dean Connell, owner of Cedar Shack, is having a fundraiser Saturday

August 20, 2022 at 2:pm. This will be a “Corn Boil”--there will be 50/50

drawings, a plinko game with prizes, ATV sweatshirts and t-shirts will be sold,

Dean hired a band that will play from 3-7pm. There will be gun raffles and meat

raffles. Fun times!!!

Billy Pratt, owner of Wagon Wheel , donated $100 to the club. Thank

you Billy.

The club ride scheduled for August 13 has been moved up to August 6 at

10:30, leaving Mo's at 9:30am.

August 13 is Jake's Day put on by Joel Fell with the Turkey Federation.

This fun day is for the kids...there will be a nature walk, fishing, building bird

houses, and an atv safety class by Bubba. You must register the kids by Aug. 6.

This fun day will start at 10:am and go till 2:pm and lunch will be furnished.

Bubba made a motion that the club make a donation of $50( 2-$25 prizes with

a free club membership) Dave Elgan seconded it, all approved.

The 50/50 raffle brought in $185--$92 to the club, $92 to our new

club member, Jen Smith—she donated it back to club for there building fund.

Thank you Jen!!!

Next meeting will be Sat. August 20 at Romanos at 10:am, fundraiser

at 2:pm at Cedar Shack. Come and support the club and have fun!!

Saturday June 18, 2022 @ Sherwood Lodge 10:am

Meeting called to order at 10:am with the Pledge of Allegiance

being said. We had 48 members present. The minutes were read

from May's meeting. Bubba made a motion to accept the minutes

as read, Bob Sweet seconded it, all approved.

The treasurers report was given.

Brian Jambretz seconded it, all approved.

Bubba welcomed any new members.

Trail and routes: Bruce, Darren Tulley and Brian Jambretz are

meeting. We will have 18-20 miles south of Badger. Its all Sand

Valley land. Giving 2 miles for every mile we lost. Sherriff York

called on hotspots.

Bubba updated new members on the land club is buying and what

the plans are for this land.

Eric Edwards, president of the south Adams atv club, is resign-

from their club and asked Bubba if he would possibly be willing to

merge their club into ours depending on what their club wanted.

Bubba asked our club what their thoughts were on this issue. There

was a discussion We voted and it was unanimous from the floor “Yes”

to merge. Bubba will go to their meeting and find out what their club

wants to do.

There will be a club ride August 6th from the High School chaired

by Bill and Anne Klinkner.

Dean from Cedar Shack is having a fundraiser for our club, a

Corn Boil. A plinko game is in progress, Dean hired a band. This

will start at 2:pm. This will be 0n Sat. Aug 20th. The same day is our

Club meeting at Romano's. Our meeting will be 10:am and Corn Boil

at Cedar Shack at 2:pm.

50/50 winner was our very own treasurer Char Brockman she

received $85 and the rest went to the club.

Next meeting will be July 16 at Wagon Wheel.

allegiance being said. We had 29 members present.

The minutes from April's meeting were read. Bubba made a

motion to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded it, all

approved.

The treasurer's report was given.

Bubba made a motion to approve, Bob Sweat seconded

it, all approved.

Bubba welcomed any new members and had them introduce

themselves.

Sheriff Brent York was answering questions. If you hook your

seat belt then put the shoulder strap behind your back thata is not

legal and can result in a $180 ticket. Second, if you have a snow

plow on your machine, you can only go 1 ½ miles from your resid-

ence with plow on.

15th Ave. south of County C is closed. Will be opened back

up and graded before Memorial Day weekend.

Cty. Z, from Dakota Ave. to Czech Lane IS NOT opened yet-

Wait till signed! Sign are ordered. Then, trail behind Shady Acres

will be closed !

After Memorial weekend, Brian and Bubba and Darren Tolley

will be getting together to talk about trail expansion.

Dice Ride June 4th 3 places will be paid out-maximum of 10

dice-meat raffle-bake sale- and 50/50.

Tom Behl updated on his Poker Run. He had 107 riders-paid

out $1000 to 12 places-5 gift certificates-3 people got door prizes-

$202 was brought in for 50/50-Anne Klinkner won and donated $60

back to the club.

Rome accepted our bid of 2 acres for $10,000. Vice Pres. Dave

Elgan will go with Bubba to sign over a $500 check for the right to

refusal land agreement.

Brian Jambretz, our new trail boss, says his drags are working

awesome. Him and his wife, Deb spent about 15 hours grooming

trails. If anyone wants to use drag, contact Brian. Friends, Bob and

Mel are helping. Thanks to all for your time!!! Brian reported, as of

May 1-at $7000 for maintenance already

Tom and Stacey Behl has offered to chair the 4th of July parade.

Meet between 9-9:30 at fairgrounds. Make sure to decorate machines-

club does have some decorations. Char will pick up the candy and dog

treats to throw out.

Trails closed: 22,37, 36 + Akron,27, 42, 38 +Akron, 29 and 35.

Tom Behl reported...John Paulson donated a trail camera to the

club with new batteries. Thank you John!!

Thursday April 21, 2022@ Spot-in-the-Woods

Meeting called to order at 6:pm with the pledge being said We had

52 members present with 2 new members. No minutes to read.

The Treasurers report was given.

Approved by Bubba, seconded by Ron Peterson.

Sheriff , Brent York is running for sheriff again. He gave a brief

` update of what he has accomplished. The sheriff department held a

safety class for youth, has helped pass county roads, a member of the

club, born and raised in Adams county, 26 years with the sheriff

department, instrumental in fundraiser for canine event.

Update on trails and routes: Brian and his wife has been

grooming trails. Work-n-play day, April 30th, 9:am , trailhead on

Badger.

Strongs Prairie township approved opening Cty Z from Dakota

Ave...North to Czech lane.

Bubba got a text from Darren. Grant funding came through.

We got 20 miles new trails south of Badger.

Rome accepted our bid for 2 acres for $10,000 with right of first refusal.

Trail ambassador vests haven't been delivered yet.

Kathy Corbin is chairing a Dice ride from Bighorn June 4th.

80% pay out , 20% back to the club. First place will receive 40%,

2nd place will receive 30%. The lowest dice roll will receive 10%.

Registration at 10:am back at 4:pm.

Next will be May 21 at Bighorn at 10:am.

50/50 drawing took in $150 , 75 to Verna Sheppard, $75 to the

club.

4th of July parade, meet at fairgrounds at 9:30am.

Thursday February 17, 2022

Meeting called to order with the pledge of allegiance being

said. We had 30 members present.

The minutes from November's meeting were read. Bubba

made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Bob Billings seconded

it, all approved.

The treasurer's report was given.

Bubba made a motion to accept the report as given, Bob Billings

seconded it, all approved.

Bubba welcomed the new members.

Bubba reported he is trying to get County Z-from Dakota Ave.

to Czech Lane. Sand Valley assured us we would have trails 1-10 for

this year. Sand Valley is proposing to give us , South of Badger 20-30

miles (13th over to 17th).

Sheriff York came to our meeting to talk. He reported we had

19 atv/utv accidents last year—No FATALITIES...YEAH! Also rep-

orted , most fatalities come from no seatbelts. He also answered

questions that club members asked. Caleb Heron is the new Rec/Off-

icer that took Shaun Long's position as he retired. Sheriff York also

informed us that he is having another K-9 ride either October 8 or the

15th.

We will be going back to a December Christmas party after the

surveys came back, the majority would like to see the party go back to

December. So it will be December 3rd at Cedar Shack.

Also the club meetings on Thursday night people would like to

see the meetings start at 6:pm instead of 6:30pm. Bob Billings made

a motion for starting 30 minutes sooner (just on Thursday nights),

Char Brockman seconded it, motion carried. This will start for March's

meeting on March 17, 2022 at 6:pm.

Bill & Anne Klinkner want to possibly chair a club ride on August 13th in the High School parking lot at 10:am

Thursday November 18, 2021

@ Petenwell Pub 6:30 pm

Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm with the pledge of allegiance

being said. We had 20 members present.

The minutes from last month's meeting were read. Bubba made

a motion to accept the minutes as read, Ron Peterson seconded it, all

approved.

The treasurer's report was given.

Brian Jambretz has taken over Ron Peterson's trail boss posit-

ion. Brian is in the process of making a groomer which will take all

winter.

Arch printing has sold some sweatshirts to the club with the club

logo and the reflective printing on the back. They will be slip over

hoodies and regular sweatshirts for $25 each. They also got us 15

hats with the club logo on for $15 each.

Ron Peterson's director's position is up on the ballot. He will

run again. Vote on ballots. The ballots, renewals, and surveys will

be coming out soon.

The Halloween Ride update: we had approximately 200 riders,

45 places paid out, first place was $200. Tonight is the club meeting

for the year. No meeting December or January.

The club has been looking into purchasing land in the Industrial

Park up in Rome. Bubba will be meeting with Jamie, administrator in

Rome, at a later time.

Bob Billings has been collecting map money...Char made a

deposit of $710. Jim and Candy Eidler has been collecting map money

from the county maps.

The board meeting will be 12-9@ Petenwell Pub at 5:30 pm.
